Disco Radio Hall is one of Kiev’s most popular nightclubs. It’s also one of its most unusual. Essentially it’s a large barge moored on a peninsula close to the Moskovski Bridge.
It’s a fair distance from the city centre and is popular with twenty and thirtysomethings from nearby Obolon, a sprawling residential area to the north of the city.
The club is usually open Thursday to Sunday. Music is generally 80s and 90s pop. There’s usually a small entrance fee; higher for men and frequently free for women. The concept of true gender equality hasn’t quite reached Ukraine yet.
To check what’s on visit the official Disco Radio Hall website (see information box below). Events are listed in both Russian and English.
Disco Radio Hall is situated on the Rybalskyi Peninsula near Obolon. There are no Metro stations within easy walking distance. It is best reached by taxi.
