International hotel group Swissotel Hotels & Resorts have announced plans to open a new hotel in Kiev.

It will form part of the Sky Towers, a mixed use development on Peremogy Avenue, near Kiev city centre and the train station.

The hotel is expected to open in time for the 2012 UEFA European Football Championship. It will feature 513 rooms and suites, 14 serviced apartments, conference facilities, a spa, restaurant, lounge, and bar.

InterContinental Hotels & Resorts have opened a new hotel in Kiev.

The InterContinental Kiev occupies a prime site in the centre of Kiev, close to fantastic sights such as St Sophia’s Cathedral St Andrew’s Church, and St Michael’s Golden-Domed Cathedral.

The hotel offers 272 rooms and suites over 11 floors. All feature wireless internet access, flat screen TVs, and iPod docking stations.

The InterContinental Kiev also boasts 3 restaurants, a lounge and bar, a large ballroom, conference centre, fitness centre, spa, and indoor pool.

Canadian luxury hotel operator Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to open a hotel in Kiev.

The Fairmont Grand Hotel Kiev is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2010. It will offer 257 rooms and suites, service with amenities such as a private reception desk and a comfortable guest lounge, a selection of restaurants, plus champagne and cigar bars.

Other amenities planned include meeting and conference facilities, a ballroom, and a Willow Stream Spa.

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced its first Crowne Plaza hotel in Kiev. The Crowne Plaza Kiev will be situated in Korolenkivska Street, Holosiivskyi and will feature 225 rooms and suites.

The hotel is being developed by owner ITT-Plaza, part of the ITT Investment Group, and will be managed by IHG under a 15-year management contract. Opening is scheduled for 2012, the year Ukraine hosts the UEFA European Football Championship.

The Crowne Plaza Kiev will be the third IHG hotel in Kiev. The InterContinental Kiev and the Holiday Inn Kiev are due to open at the end of 2008 and 2009 respectively.

Property developers XXI Century Investments are to build a 5-star hotel in Kiev. It will be managed by Sofitel, Accor’s luxury hotel division, and is expected to open in 2010.

The Rezidor Hotel Group has signed an agreement with developers VI Center LLC to operate the Radisson SAS at Kiev’s Boryspil Airport. Radisson SAS Hotels are part of the Rezidor Hotel Group. The hotel will offer around 300 rooms and is expected to open in 2009. The company already runs the Radisson SAS in the city centre.

The Opera hotel, Kiev’s first 5-star boutique property, will open for business tomorrow.
