On October 3 2010 the legendary Joe Cocker will be performing live in concert at the Palace Ukraine in Kiev.

After more than 40 years in the music business, Joe Cocker is still one of the most successful and popular artists worldwide. Many of his 21 studio albums and 4 live albums have achieved multi-platinum status around the world. His releases have received Grammy Awards, Golden Globes, and Academy Awards.

October 2010 sees the long awaited release of Joe Cocker’s first album for the Sony Music label Columbia Records entitled Hard Knocks. The album was produced by Matt Serletic (Matchbox Twenty, Rob Thomas, Collective Soul, Carlos Santana) and includes nine brand new songs plus Cocker’s version of the Dixie Chicks song I Hope.

De Phazz in Kiev

German jazz ensemble De Phazz will tour Ukraine next month to promote their new album LaLa 2.0.

De Phazz, aka the ‘Godfathers of Lounge’, is led by German producer Pit Baumgartner but changes its line-up with each album.

The Kiev concert will take place at the October Palace (Institutska 1) on May 27 2010.

Stomp in Kiev

An award-winning show from the London’s West End is coming to Kiev later this month.

Stomp is a non-traditional dance troupe that uses the body and everyday objects to create a unique musical performance. The group started in Brighton in the early 1990s and rose to fame with their ‘Bins’ commercial for Heineken.

They embark on a tour of Eastern Europe in March, culminating with 4 days of performances in Kiev.

Cream Kiev will be held at the Kiev Expo Plaza on March 8 2009, starting at 7 pm.

The popular dance music event will feature top DJs including Ferry Corsten, Andy Moor and Rafael Frost.

Paul McCartney in concert

Former Beatles’ member Paul McCartney will perform on Independence Square on June 14. The Independence Concert will be free to attend and has been funded and organised by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation.

McCartney said ‘I’m very excited because on the 14th of June I’ve been invited to play a concert in Independence Square, Kiev. Me and the band are going to be there and we’re going to have to a great evening and we hope to see you there. So come along, it’s going to be great evening hopefully for the Ukraine. Pull together, groove, rock and roll – all together.’

There will also be an exhibition of 40 of McCartney’s paintings at the Pinchuk Art Centre at Arena.
