Hotel Rus
With over 400 rooms the Hotel Rus is one of the largest in Kiev. It enjoys a central location close to the Republican Stadium and around ½ mile south of Khreschatyk.
All rooms include air-conditioning, a private bathroom, satellite TV, direct dial telephone, and a mini-bar.
The hotel also offers several restaurants, wireless internet access, a gift shop and business centre.

Not a bad place. There was plenty of stuff in the room, and it was fairly clean and comfortable. Didn't have much of a view though. The staff did their job, but not with much enthusiasm, however, but at least you wouldn't starve waiting. In fact the buffet breakfast was particularly good. Security was quite intimidating, but I guess it's better to have a couple of giant bears on the main entrance than not. Ok overall, just wish they would smile more.
Not outstanding and not terrible. Just an average hotel in all respects.
A fairly decent place I guess. Some things looked a little worn, but at least everything worked. The air con was quiet and efficient which was a major plus. The staff were reasonably efficient and although I had to ask twice for a couple of things their English was passable. They never seemed to smile however, maybe that is just the way in this part of the world.
