Until relatively recently, visitors browsing the offerings of Kiev’s hospitality industry would not have seen any familiar faces. The hangovers of Soviet bureaucracy and an unfavorable tax regime were just a couple of the many factors that kept the big names away from the Ukraine’s capital.
Things are now beginning to change. 2005 saw the opening of the Kiev’s first international hotel, the Radisson SAS. Hyatt followed in 2007 and InterContinental in 2009.
