This restaurant is one of two airside eateries in Terminal D of Boryspil International Airport in Kiev.
It’s modern, bright, and clean. Large windows provide plenty of light but the view of the car park isn’t the most appealing vista at the airport.
Gourmet Kitchen & Bar offers a varied menu that includes burgers, pasta, and salads. I opted for steak with fries (255 UAH), mashed potato (55 UAH), and fresh orange juice (80 UAH).
I wasn’t in any particular rush as my flight wasn’t due to leave for a couple of hours. However, after waiting for 40 minutes with no sign of the food, I was becoming increasingly impatient.
It took several minutes to get the attention of the waitress. Miraculously, the food appeared about 30 seconds after I complained. She apologised and said that it had taken so long because of the time it took to cook the steak.
Well I guess the 40 minutes of cooking time explained why the steak was so tough. The fries and mashed potato though, were excellent.
The total bill came to 390 UAH. It’s not cheap for Ukraine but is certainly more economic than dining at most other European airport restaurants.
Visit Kiev Ukraine dined at the Gourmet Kitchen & Bar in January 2017. Unlike many other travel websites we pay for our own food and drink and do not announce our presence to staff. An English menu was available and staff spoke adequate English.
