European Square is situated at the northern end of Khreschatyk. Places of interest here include:
• Ukrainian House – 5-storey conference and exhibition hall
• Dnipro Hotel
• National Philharmonic – concert hall
• Ukrainian Independent Information Agency (UNIAN) offices – news agency
The closest Metro station is Maidan Nezalezhnosti.

This video shows Independence Square (Ukrainian: Maidan Nealezhnosti) in Kiev; the focal point of the city centre and the Orange Revolution.
Features to look out for include:
• Globus shopping centre – the mall is underground the glass dome (0:06) is part of the roof
• Central Post Office (0:09)
• Hotel Ukraina and the Independence Monument (0:18)
The road bisecting the square is Khreschatyk.
There almost always a bunch of Ukrainian teenagers breakdancing outside the Khreschatyk Metro station. Some are good, other aren’t.
The station is one of the busiest in Kiev and provides a large passing audience. It’s situated on Khreschatyk, towards Independence Square.

This high definition (HD) video shows the Creators of Motion, a bunch of guys from Lviv, practicing parkour in Kiev.
Much of the video was shot in the areas around Independence Square and the Globus shopping centre.
