Golden Gate Irish Pub

Directly opposite Kiev’s famous Golden Gate, this popular Irish pub enjoys a reputation amongst the city’s beer lovers for serving the best quality ale in town. With over 20 varieties on offer it also has the largest selection.

Weekends and game days can be busy, with large parties of expats watching the English Premier League and other sports on big screen TVs.

A couple of pool tables and a darts board are added attractions.

The Golden Gate is open daily from 11 am until 1 am. Special celebrations are held on St Patrick’s Days, Halloween, and other occasions.

Find myself agreeing with comments below, both + and -. I feel manager would gain credibility if he were to put on display evidence of his military past. Being in the Royal Marines is no secret, rather something to be proud of, Robin, but why have you removed the White Ensign?

Avoid this pub like the plague. It's more expensive than London pubs and it's in a poor eastern block country! Find a local watering hole. It will be more fun.

Sports coverage is good, and the waitresses are ok, but there was one who just appeared so full of herself - brunette 1.70.

I like this pub. True it's not the cheapest place but certainly not the most expensive.
You can book a table and ask for a particular match with no trouble at all as long as you book in advance. The staff and waitresses are friendly and I find the service is good.
As for Robin I find him friendly and helpful. He's helped me out on numerous occasions, whether it's for a traditional Christmas lunch, birthday drinks or just for a couple of beers.

I think the Golden Gate is overrated and expensive. The manager Robin would need to have lived 120 years for the amount of experience he says he has.
