Kreshchatik Park
Kreshchatik Park is one of several charming parks in Kiev city centre. Situated at the northern end of Kiev’s main street it offers spectacular views of the Dnipro River and the city’s Left Bank.
Features of interest include:
- People’s Friendship Arch - a giant rainbow-shaped arch built to celebrate the union of Russia and Ukraine
- Water Information Centre – museum offering information about the importance of water resources
- Park Bridge – Bridge of Love - On this pedestrian bridge note the ‘love padlocks’ attached to the railings. As a sign of devotion couples buy padlocks, inscribe them with their names, and attach them to the bridge before throwing away the key.
Kreshchatik Park is particularly attractive during the summer months when visitors can enjoy its numerous outdoor cafes, fairground rides, or even hire a pedal car.
